NIMES – Roman city

Nimes is a gracious, elegant and historic city developed by the Romans and still a real gem for a break or as the base for travelling more widely. You can’t miss the Roman Arena – the best preserved in Europe or the Maison Carre temple. There’s good eating, quality shopping – the Pont du Gard with its fascinating museum of the Roman water industry ( no honestly !) and you have the Camargues with its white horses, fighting bulls and birdlife. Nearby are other intriguingly medieval towns like Aigues Mortes. Good wine country around Nimes too. Duration.. 30’01”
