This is the country pub and restaurant where star of the British culinary firmament – Stephen Terry – performs his miracles. Stephen was one of the three chefs from across the UK who cooked for Heston Blumenthal’s “megastar chef’s banquet” in London in June 2008. It was all part of BBC2 television’s “Great British Menu” series. The pub is unfussy and Mr Terry’s cuisine is similarly brilliant but down to earth. Well worth twinning a dining experience here with Shaun Hill’s Walnut Tree less than five miles away. We stayed in Raglan to visit both but in the few years the Hardwick has opened its own bedrooms.
