Cragside is a wonderful Victorian house in an idyllic woodland location near Rothbury in Northumberland. It was the home of Sir William Armstrong the industrialist who build battleships on the Tyne for the world’s navies. He was an innovator and the house led the way with the first electric light and with a host of other inventions – like an early dishwasher. Powerful people from around the world came here to enjoy great comfort and hospitality. This is a pretty complete guide to the rooms in the house and runs to 27 minutes.
