Cochem – another of the attractive, quaint historic towns on the Mosel. Plenty of places to drink the glorious, fruity wines of the Mosel. They don’t all have to be sweet – particularly if you pick the better “mit pradikat” wines. Of course if you go for the truly and deliberately sweet end of the wines – like “eiswein” then they make fine dessert wines to drink with dessert at one of the riverside restaurants. Remember don’t just walk in to any old eatery – check out the best online. There are loads of guides around. This was part of a cruise journey but each of the individual small towns visited was given a guided tour … so shorter than major city guides but well worth the low price.
